My daughter attended two separate events for trick and treat this year. One in my office at Makati and one here in our condominium residence in Mandaluyong. Trick or Treat is one event that my daughter looks forward to every year. Her memorable experience started when she was 2 years old during her first trick or treat. She just loves walking around and knocking at every door as she shouts "trick or treat!" and people are giving her various treats of candies and toys. She also loves seeing her fellow kids dress up like monsters, fairies, and cartoon characters at their best to celebrate the event.
For this year's trick or treat, she dressed up as Witch Fairy and Vampire Girl. On her Witch Fairy costume, I just recycled her costume from last year's Spider Girl. I just put on a pair of black stockings and black fairy wings on her just to make her look as a Witch Fairy. It's a good thing that her costume last year still fits her.

Our office in Makati was dressed up in various decorations. The theme for this year's Trick or Treat was all about Carnival. So our department had decided to dress up our location into a Fairy Tale Land where Kings, Queens, Princes, and Princesses are present. Me and my colleagues had worn crowns all throughout the hours of event as we give various treats to the kids coming to our location.
Here's a peak of our department's decoration for the Fairy Tale theme:
From the lobby of the office, kids can already feel the Carnival Theme. There is a life size popcorn near the door entrance and a pirate theme at the receiving area of the office.
Other decorations in the office include themes of "Under the Sea", "Starwars", "Candyland", and "Jungle Theme".
A magic show was prepared for the kids. It was an enjoyable one. Kids scattered themselves on the floor as they watched the magic show. It's nice to see that all of the kids had been very interactive with the host of the magic show. Prices were also given in every game throughout the magic show.
Each department had prepared treats for the kids. There are also various food carts that both the kids and adults can enjoy.
The trick or treat event at my office in Makati will not be only memorable for my child but also for me. It's a new company for me and looking forward in bringing my child for more events like this. The happiness and joy on my child's eyes are priceless.
The Second Event of Trick or Treat
On the second event of trick or treat, my child dressed up as a Vampire Girl. It was supposedly as "Vampirina", the new cartoon character from Disney Channel series, however it was hard to find a costume for it. The series is very new and merchandise items are not yet available in the country.
As soon as we got on the event venue, Cathniss started to play around with fellow kids. Some participants were late so the event proper started at 4pm.
In groups of five, participants had lined up to showcase their costume as they ramp to the front area where the judges are sitting in. I failed to take the video where my little Cathniss had showcased her costume to the judges. She was very confident then and had followed instructions from me from afar.
After her turn of displaying her costume to the judges, she started to play around again with fellow other kids while waiting for other participants to finish their showcase. McDo foods were given to the kids for merienda.
After the showcase of events, there were games held for the participants that come with prizes. The kids enjoyed the games. Then announcement of winners were done for each category.
Giving of treats were done at the end of the event program, which I find it very tiring for the kids to wait that long. We've been there in the event proper at 3pm and giving of treats only happen at 7pm. I'm speaking of for those kids below 7 years who dressed up graciously and waited so long for the treats. Most of them are very tired and sweaty already because they just play around while waiting for the whole program to finish. Every year, this is the scenario that we have here in the condo. The organizers of the event are very poor in managing all aspects of the event. I don't think I can commend them for these. Maybe just for the effort, I can.
The entire event ended up with sweaty and I can say a fulfilled one for the kids because I can say that most of them did enjoyed the Trick or Treat this year. I just hope that next year, the event would be more organized and not very tiring for the kids. I find the proceeds of the program very traditional and lame. I'm looking forward for more improvement next year.
