It’s a nice cold evening and we travelled going to Kuya J Resto along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City, to attend a double birthday celebration treat of my cousins, Danna and Kaye who were both born on the month of November. As they turn another year of their life last November 8 and 22, I wish them both with the best of health and happiness. I still recall how we grew up together along with my siblings. It’s fun to remember all those happy memories when we’re young. All those stuffs we had and we did all together during the 90s time were really exceptional. It’s an era of no gadgets, no internet, and no technology that will distract you from all that things you want to do as young people. Everything is so liberating during this time. No pressure, no stress but just free air to breathe, taho in the morning, street games to play, banana que and dirty ice cream for merienda, afternoon cartoons to watch, palo ni Lolo, sigaw ni Nanay, and mostly the undying laughter of Kaye every we tickle her. Just missed all these things with them! If only, I could turn back the time, I’d choose to be a 90s kid again. Enough of those reminiscing times, let me share with you the fun night we had for the double birthday celebration of D and K.
Before we get inside the Kuja J Resto at Shaw Boulevard, I bought a birthday cake at the nearby Goldilocks. I bought them the usual greetings cake with dedication. The cakes come in different sizes, themes, and flavors. After buying the cake, we get inside the resto already. The place was not crowded and the ambience is just perfect for the birthday celebrants to calmly dine with their family. To start with, we ordered for the following:
Kuya J's Fried Chicken (Half - P245 ; Whole - P490)
Pancit Canton - P165.00
Kuya J's Crispy Pata (Regular - P490 ; Whole - P695)
Pinakbet - P170.00
Stuffed Grilled Quid with Barbeque Sauce - P290.00
Kare-Kare (P399.00)
Fried Halo-Halo with Vanilla Ice Cream - P135.00
While eating, we had fun chats about the past memories. Ever one went down the memory lane and shared their piece of story. Though again, we’re not complete because some were not possible to attend the dinner due to proximity issue. My brother and his family are based in Pampanga and travel time would be difficult for them during the season. Anyways, at least in whatever ways, they will always be part of our shared stories from the past.
Photos were taken everywhere after we eat. Of course, we want memories here and photos are the best evidences of memories. We took photo of D and K holding their rainbow cake from Goldilocks. We also sang them with the “Happy Birthday Song”, the usual greetings and blowing of cake ceremony. That’s it! It was simple yet basic.
However, we find the night young and it’s a Saturday evening so we proceed to continue the celebration with a videoke stint. Thus, we headed at the Celebrity Lounge (just above the building of Kuya J Resto, Shaw Boulevard)
The interiors of Celebrity Lounge are well-resourced. The rooms were very eccentric and named after various music acts. Overall, the KTV bar was clean, classy and well-maintained. The staffs are also very accommodating.
The Karaoke session was full of fun and bliss. Everyone had their piece of song to sing. Personally, I enjoyed the Karaoke and it definitely gives me therapy to relieve stress since I can sing to the highest and fullest. If I had the chance to do a karaoke session every day, I would gladly do it. That’s what I need right now. I need to de-stress myself and sing my heart’s out.
Karaoke or videoke session is very well-loved by us. Since we all grew up during the 90s era, music videos with lyrics are also one of the highlights. My cousins and I used to watch the Myx channel every day during the 90s just to listen and sing-along on their chart-toppers. The MTV Asia channel is also showcasing new songs from the famous singers and boy band singers of the 90s. We will never forget how we loved the Backstreet Boys, Westlife, NSync, A1 and Boyzone. Of course who would forget Britney Spear, Spice Girls and Cristina Aguillera??? Obviously, since we all grew up the 90s era, most of our selected songs for the karaoke is 90s as well. It was so good reminiscing the all those classic songs.
Celebrity Lounge is located along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City. It’s a perfect date place for any groups who wants to gather intimately yet having fun and de-stressing. Celebrity Lounge is open from three in the afternoon onwards.
Definitely, Celebrity Lounge is one great place on your next night out. Don’t wait long, gather now your list of karaoke hits and sing until your heart’s out.
