It’s a long weekend holiday in NCR due to the highly significant event of ASEAN 2017 held here in the country. I get to enjoy five long days (including weekends) of vacation with my family. As part of our regular Sunday day out, we get to dine at a casual dining restaurant at Shangri-la Plaza Mall at Mandaluyong City. We choose the Wild West Roadhouse Grill that is located at the East West Building of the mall.
The restaurant’s dining areas are divided into two, the enclosed area and the open area. Since we have our 4-year old daughter with us, we chose to dine at the open area just to give her a more convenient ambience. Since the enclosed area is quite hazy for a little child. Maybe the enclosed dining area would be best for group of friends or people who are catching up over a dinner.
For starter, we ordered the Santa Fe Nachos which cost P375.00. It’s topped with cheese and jalapeno with salsa and sour cream dip on the sides. My child liked the taste because of the crunchy texture and the right melt of the cheese on top. The taste of the sour cream is quite dreary for me because the flavor does not savor much in the mouth. So I hope they can improve the taste :)

As for the main dish, we ordered for the Sausage Mushroom Pasta, which is one of their Fireside Favorites. We ordered for the serving size of Cowboy Style with a cost of P320.00. It also comes with a Lone Range serving size costing to P200.00. This dish is healthy-prepared for those weight or diet watchers. The linguine pasta was tossed on olive oil and tomatoes, and topped with arugula and fried basil. Since it’s healthy-prepared, expect it to be tasteless. You can always add salt and pepper to give it a more flavorful bite.
Another starter that we ordered is the Wild West Quesadillas with a cost of P395.00. This is one of the Quesadillas dishes that I can love because of its’ generous fillings. The fillings consist of grilled chicken, fajita onions, and mixed cheese. The tortilla was buttery toasted. It was served with diced tomatoes, salsa, and sour cream dip on the sides.
The overall dining experience at Wild West Roadhouse Grill at Shangri-la Plaza Mall at Mandaluyong City was rewarding. The serving sizes of all the dishes that we ordered were very sumptuous and just right for the value of money. I can suggest that the starter dishes can serve 2-3 people. I will definitely come back in this place with my family again. The next time, it would be a bigger group probably with relatives and close friends.
